Good Day People, or should I address all as “Bonjour!”
Today I scoured a couple of my local craft stores for items Parisian themed. Why is it when I have an idea I can never find anything that I have in my head? I came back home a tad disappointed to say the least. Then I began sifting through my current “Stash” of Filofax inserts/dividers, card stock and washi tape.
I’m not one to wait for items to become available to me. I am the type that is incredibly impatient. If there is something planted in my head, at the time it is incredibly important that I have it right NOW. Realising I sound a little like a spoiled brat right now, I promise I’m not that kind of girl – I just have these incredibly strong emotions when I have an idea – it needs to be released as soon as possible from me, and then I’m free to move on to the next idea. So, with that in mind, I realised I’d have to ‘make do and mend’ with what I already had. Which wasn’t much…
Anyhow, here is what I got up to:
Taking blank Filofax cotton cream divider tabs (pack of 4) that came with an old Filofax I purchased a while back, a Stamp, and a Distress Ink (you’ll notice I’ve gone back to basics on this little project – lots of old ideas came back out to play!)I continuously stamped the divider to make it look like a letter.
Next, I worked on two Filofax Today Markers, using washi tape and lace adhesive.
I then used the same lace and washi tape on the dividers, just to give it a more uniform look. The lace is on the tab, if you can’t see the photograph clearly 😉
My muse, and a French Icon, Brigitte Bardot, is my front cover, a photograph taken from a book, stuck onto a parisian themed white and pink striped page from the same book and decorated with lace and a film strip washi tape.
You’ll see that I’ve placed the inserts in my Deco, rather than the Finsbury. I thought the pink was a little toooooo much…
All put together here’s how it’s looking!
Naturally I had to pair the look with a marabou topped pen!
I know it’s not “proper” Parisian Themed, but hey ho, I quite like the simple design.
Have you changed your Filofax up lately?
Kel
