Ooh-La-La Parisian Filofax

Good Day People, or should I address all as “Bonjour!”
Today I scoured a couple of my local craft stores for items Parisian themed. Why is it when I have an idea I can never find anything that I have in my head? I came back home a tad disappointed to say the least. Then I began sifting through my current “Stash” of Filofax inserts/dividers, card stock and washi tape.
I’m not one to wait for items to become available to me. I am the type that is incredibly impatient. If there is something planted in my head, at the time it is incredibly important that I have it right NOW. Realising I sound a little like a spoiled brat right now, I promise I’m not that kind of girl – I just have these incredibly strong emotions when I have an idea – it needs to be released as soon as possible from me, and then I’m free to move on to the next idea. So, with that in mind, I realised I’d have to ‘make do and mend’ with what I already had. Which wasn’t much…
Anyhow, here is what I got up to:

Taking blank Filofax cotton cream divider tabs (pack of 4) that came with an old Filofax I purchased a while back, a Stamp, and a Distress Ink (you’ll notice I’ve gone back to basics on this little project – lots of old ideas came back out to play!)I continuously stamped the divider to make it look like a letter.

Next, I worked on two Filofax Today Markers, using washi tape and lace adhesive.

I then used the same lace and washi tape on the dividers, just to give it a more uniform look. The lace is on the tab, if you can’t see the photograph clearly 😉

My muse, and a French Icon, Brigitte Bardot, is my front cover, a photograph taken from a book, stuck onto a parisian themed white and pink striped page from the same book and decorated with lace and a film strip washi tape.

You’ll see that I’ve placed the inserts in my Deco, rather than the Finsbury.  I thought the pink was a little toooooo much…

All put together here’s how it’s looking!

Naturally I had to pair the look with a marabou topped pen!

I know it’s not “proper” Parisian Themed, but hey ho, I quite like the simple design.

Have you changed your Filofax up lately?

Filofax Inspiration Comes From Everywhere: Including Underwear Shopping!

Good Day To You!

It’s amazing where inspiration strikes you, don’t you think? Magazines, work, a bar, a film… Underwear shopping…

On Friday I visited a beautiful little boutique style underwear shop that reminded me of all things French. And when I think of French Lingerie, the colours pink, black, white and champagne spring to mind. Beautiful shaped handwritten words, fluffy marabou and lace all create this wonderful vision in my mind.

So now, a couple of days later, it’s still in my mind.

I’m generally rather bohemian in my style etc, but there’s something pulling me towards the delicate pink French style. After all, my home is decorated in the shabby chic French style, why not incorporate it into a Filofax?

So out has come my old light pink Finabury, all ready to be dolled up in the French style. Here goes. Wish me luck, I will show you how it ends up once I’m done with it 🙂

Hugs!

Reviving My Love For Filofax And Planning

Good Evening To You!

I feel so guilty whenever I look at my WordPress app icon on my iPhone. And I mentally note “must get back into my Filofax and blogging again.” But if truth be told, there’s not a whole lot of change. Generally, if I don’t have anything to talk about (any changes usually), I fear I have nothing to speak about whatsoever! My life for the last few months has been mundane – work, home, sleep, work, home, sleep etc.

Last night, in a desperate attempt to revive my creative spirit a little and use my planner more, I did a clear out of my hat boxes of crafty bits and bobs I never use, or ripped bits of card stock I promised myself I’d one day have use for. It also gave me chance to take stock of what I actually HAVE! I didn’t realise I had so much stuff!

Looking then in my cupboard reserved solely for filofaxes and additional paper, old diary inserts, my own creations etc, I pulled out my Compact Luxe and decided it was time to have a go, see if I could use it. Most of my week on 2 pages have been pulled out, and I’ve whittled the sections down to 4 as opposed to my old set up of 6 tabs.

Nothing has been vamped up yet as most of my time was spent faffing around sorting my craft stuff, however I managed to find a cheeky piano keys drawing online I just HAD to turn into a today marker… For marking my month to view I stumbled upon a RAK I received from my penpal from the US, April’s lovely gift of a Starbucks coffee shaped loyalty card I adore! She also provided me with a little washi tape on there I haven’t had the heart to remove yet either… April if you see this; Thank you SO MUCH for your letter and all of the gifts, I promise I will write back to you – I am cooking a couple of bits and bobs up for you as we speak… 🙂

But in the meantime, take a gander at the photo’s below… any idea’s how I can rev up my dividers? I’m clean out of ideas ;/

Much love

Kel
